Hi,

I'm having a problem with the hot water, we have the faucet that controls both hot and cold water by turning it either left or right. The cold water works fine, but when I turn it completely to the hot side it only comes out very slowly if not only dripping. Generally if the faucet is set right in the middle we get a good warm temperature, at this setting it only gives ice cold water. The sinks in the bathroom work fine so I know the hot water tank is working. Would this problem be the faucet? Help Please :)

I think that your problem is in the faucet itself, probably some trash has got through the water heater and into the faucet. The thing for you to do is to turn off the hot water at the water heater and take the faucet apart, (make sure the water is off at another faucet before you take it apart) Look at the cartridge that you take out to see if you see trash in it, also look into the body of the faucet and see if you can see something in the pipe.

Now if you can get someone to help you you can hold a pan in front of the faucet while someone turns on the cut off at the water heater for just a few seconds, if there is trash in the hot water pipe this may wash it out.

Put the faucet back together and try it out.

I'm not sure what the brand is. We haven't done any plumbing in the house, we actually just bought it. The house was vacant for quite a few months.

Is This a kitchen faucet correct, would you be able to post a picture of your faucet, also do this close both angle valves under the sink, remove the handle and the cartridge check the seals for and damage, turn on the water for a few seconds to flush the debris, close the angle valves check inside the faucet for any debris, assemble the faucet, check if it is OK now, if not then you would need to replace the cartridge, good luck.

No it's actually the tub.

You need to remove the handle and the cartridge, flush the faucet by truning on the water for a few seconds and check if there is any debris inside the faucet clean every thing if there is any thing, install the cartridge and check if it works, if not then you need to change the cartrdge, good luck.
