    Elictric Heater blowing cold air
    Hello,

I'm a newbie, I have a problem with heating. When I turn my thermostat on heat cold air blows out of the vent. When I put the thermostate on emergency heat then warm air blows from the vents. I have an electric heating system and it is a heat pump system. Please help.

Sounds like heatpump not doing its job, when u say blowing cold air ,is it like the a/c is working?(that cold),, set the tstat back to normal, while it is running feel the copper lines coming into your evaporater coil,, is the biggest copper line cold, like very cold and kind of sweaty,, if so the a/c is running ,telling me the reversing valve in heat pump has not switched over

The copper line is cold when I set the tstat back to normal so I can assume that there is a problem with the reversing valve correct? How do I correct this?

If it is the reversing valve then chances are you will not be able to make the repair. Call in a tech company.
