    Basement Sinks
Hi all! Please help  I moved into inherited my fathers home last year November. Last month I noticed the water from my kitchen sink (upstairs) was ending up in my huge old basement sink behind my washing machine. I couldn't get it down so we snaked it and it went down, I then did a load of laundry and that water stayed in it. We snaked it and snaked the pipes underneath, it then worked for about a month but now it's doing it again. The Kitchen water is going down into the old tubs and and staying there and so is the laundry water from the washing machine. The bathtub and sinks on the 2nd floor are fine and the kitchen sinks are draining rapidly, just getting stuck in the bottom sink. Can anyone please, please tell me what is going on?? I know my poppa did a lot of monthly maintanence on the home and maybe I am not doing something I am suppose to.
    Please help! :(
    Thanks a TON!!

    Hey Jack,
You have a blockage downstream from the basement slop sink. Your kitchen sink's connect to the slop sinks drain line so the kitchen will empty but the water will back up in the basement sink.
The solution would be to snake the slop sink drain from the roof vent or if you have cleanout tees installed on the stack vents in the basement from there. If you go on the roof put out enough snake to reach the base and 20 feet more. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. Tom
