If you filed on-line, contact the web site administrator to see if they can send you a copy of the return.

If you use a tax professional, he/she will have a file copy. He/she can provide you a copy, bt be prepred to pay a small handling fee of $5-$10.

The IRS will send you a copy of your 2007 tax script, which will include the 2007 tax return if it was filed. This tax script is free, and will be mailed in about two weeks.

If you have an urgent need, the IRS will fax it to you, often on the same day you phone in the request. Most state schools will accept the transcript in lieu of the actual tax return.

    Call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.
