My PC fan runs too much I think
I had replaced my fan power plug.. I was told to do this and I still have problem.. my fan runs often.. you hear it powering up, then powering down.. when it powers up, *gets louder* my internet slows down until it powers down *sound get lower and softer*. Also my internet speed is very slow.. I am with comcast and they said they couldn't do anything more.. does this make sense to somebody? I have tried cleaning prior fan with air often and it still did it, so I changed my power supply and still doing same thing.. I often run scan disk and defragment..

Are you sure it's your fan? Sounds more like a CD drive...

Not sure, just sounds like a fan.. how can I find out.. would a cd motor make my internet slow. I have to wait until it stops or slows down for me to function on internet like typing or searching or changing pages or whatever..

Have you restarted PC to see if there will be a change?

Any changes that either happened or that you perhaps made to your computer around the time that the problem started; particularly any software or hardware that you installed or setup.

Check your processes to see what is using most of cup usage

Right click on task bar and choose task mgr and the processes tab

Check which items use most cpu usage

How about scheduled tasks you may have set?
Check task scheduler to see what items you have there and how often you have them set to run
Start, programs, acces. system tools, task scehdulet

Do you have antivirus that is set on shedule to run or update and is this program doing updates when you here the noise?

Good advice and on my cpu sometimes I click on something's to end process and my PC restarts.. some I can't end. Some say owner, some system.. so I try to click off most of "owners".. stuff.. I have iexplore that has over 64,000 mem usuage and then I have explorer.exe with over 37,000 on mem usage.. I was told never to turn off i.e.. Are they both the same..

No, explorer is your actual windows interface which you see on the screen which you should not end

i.e. using 64 is not much at all, nothing there

The ones with administrator would be the ones to see if they are using many resources or ones you may not know what they are

If you don't know what they may be related to, you can Google the name or post here

But still some questions posted above might help out

In the task manager is doesn't say administrator.. it says owner, system, local service or network service..

Don't know, nothing seems to be taking up much resources then
Go through the things in my first post to see if anything is relevant

Usually your situation would indicate something is periodically running at specific times, just need to find out what that may be
