My mother had alot of the same problems after a work related injury. She was then sent to an orthopedic surgeon who ordered, MRI's, and Milograms, which showed she had blown disks. They had to operate and everything was fixed. Of course the pain from surgery was there, and then there was scar tissue that started to rear it's ugly head. The pain for her is also really bad, and the doctors sent her to a "pain clinic" which helped her get on the right regiment of pain meds. If you have insurance that will pay for it, demand them do and MRI or milogram, (I can't remember which one is for what). Regular x-rays' aren't going to necessarily show the problem. But it sounds like your doctor needs to take a different route.
