Have there been any studies that show there are dangers to our health from using fluorescent lights (bulbs and long tubes) in our homes?
Any tips will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I know the new lights they are saying we have to convert to have warnings --even the American migraine Association is putting out the warnings. They are suppose to be disposed of like batteries, tires, etc... rather than thrown in the garbage.

Well, there is one thing that I am aware of and that is flicker, but it's usually because of computer monitors and the lighting flashing at different rates causing headaches in susceptable individuals.
There is also some affect to some individuals that are sensitive to the spectrum. Wide spectrum lamps are more expensive to manufacture and are usually marketed as gro-lite or wide-spectrum lights. Esentially a fluorescent light ionizes a small amount of mercury vapor which excites a phosphor(s) emitting light of another wavelength.
Even lighting, while a necessity, can have it's effect on people. This makes designing lighting systems a detailed operation, not only considering power needs, now energy savings, and always it's effects on people has been a concern.
