    Well pump problem
    Hi,

I bought a house with a well. And the well does not seem to function.

Is there a way to diagonose the pump problem? I can see the voltage is applied to the pump. The pressure trigger is at the "on" position since the metal leads touch the base and I measured the voltage on the wires leading to the pump.

    I am from Florida.

    Thanks.

    Hi Sherwood, Greetings from Sarasota.
Is this a surface pump or a submersible pump? Is the pump 110 or 220 volts?
What reading did you get when you measured the voltage from the control box to the pump? Let me know, Tom

    Dear Tom,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

The pump is a submersible. The voltage is 220.

I am in St. Pete area. We are not far.

I hate to tell you this but you've done about all you can do. You've ascertained that power is going down to the motor windings. From here on in the drill is to pull the pump and check the motor to see why it's not operating.
Time to call in a pump man. Good luck, Tom
