According to the Virginia Beach Correctional Center website, the answer to your question is, "Yes".

I can understand your frustration with, what may seem such a trivial thing to the general public, was established to enforce rules and regulations set forth by the correctional facility for inmate safety dealing with contraband on any and all levels.

The link provided below is of the facilities booklet, a copy of which is provided to inmates at the time of orientation, is intended to inform them of the rules and regulations of the Virginia Beach Correctional Center and to clearly define restrictions, privileges, programs and services which will affect their stay.

Hopefully the two of you will be reunited soon and this will no longer be an issue.

The best to you and yours.

The inmates have a specific list of items they are allowed to have, if it is not on that list it is not allowed. There will be limited number of some items, including books, magizens and so on.

So yes, these are not allowed since they are not on the list.

Also mailing them is another issue, since they are not letters and can not be mailed either.

** also after years of working there, I doubt they "gave" them most likely sold ( traded) for them, which is also against the rules.
