Does a quitclaims deed also remove your name from the loan?
My boyfriend and I have a home loan in both of our names, now that we are splitting he would like to keep the house. I would like to get my name off the home/loan. Would a quit claims deed do the trick? Other wise I don't think he would qualify at the bank to have the home under only his name...

    Thank you!

No, a quit claim deed will not remove your name from the loan. The only way to get your name removed from the loan is for your boyfriend to refinance the loan in his own name.

I strongly recommend that you NOT sign any type of deed until the loan is refinanced or the property is sold.
