    Hey Flamingo...

I'm a big fan of each kind of pipe in certain circumstances!

If you have qualified for a replumb in a class action suit then I would recommend the copper pipe if labor is included? However, the cpvc is also an excellent system and it is suggested that it may outlast copper in the long run. CPVC is easy to install.

Note here that TYPE M copper piping is not allowed to be used for water piping anywhere that I know of. This pipe type is used only for heating pipes/systems or for drainage/vent piping.

Now... what about PEX piping? Has the plumber mentioned this system? This is best overall system for re-piping entire house... if possible. Click on the following link:

Mark, we can use M copper above ground...

Anyway, if you decide to go with copper, go with type L pipe. Its walls are twice as thick as on M pipe. Also, Mark asked good question regarding PEX pipes...

Let us know what you decided to do..

We have experts on this page that work Atlanta that should chime in.
Type "M" copper to repipe a house? I'm amazed that Milos UPC would allow it.
Anyhow type "M" copper's outlawed in my area. Aggressive water will eat it right up. Marks bang on when he suggested PEX. Another option that's more user friendly the copper is PVC and CPVC. My suggestion? Go with plastic. Good luck, Tom
