I had no idea I never mailed my state return. I just came across it in an old purse that I was going through. What do I do?:confused:

Step one, call your state department of taxation and ask them where your 2007 return is.

If they say you never submitted the return, tell them you did but you will be more than happy to send them the copies if they require them.

Go from there.

Agrred that you should contact the state to determine if the return has been filed.

If not, mail it. The actual deadline for filing and recovering a refund for 2007 is 15 April 2011.

Assuming that you have a refund due, the state will have no problem processing the return in November 2007.
