    Honda Civic 92 - Won't start
Hey out there... can anyone help?

I have a 92 Honda Civic that won't start up... It clicks but nothing... I can hear the fuel pump run fine... Checked all fuses, all OK... checked for spark, but no spark...

Do you think it may be the coil? Or something else? I am a little stuck...

FYI - No engine light comes on to say there is something wrong with the car... Checked the battery with a tester which tells me its good...

Maybe starter motor? I hope someone can help cause I am about to roll it down the hill and set fire to it JOKES... :)

Hi, when you say no spark, does the car turn over but no spark in the ignition cable and would not start or the car would just click click when you turn the ignition key on and would not even turn over?

When trying to turn over the car, I hear the usual click but nothing from there... So I checked for spark, no spark...

I have read some of these threads saying spark won't happen if the main relay is faulty etc etc... So now I am thinking either starter motor, this cap, coil, leads, plugs etc etc...

If the car is not turning over, then it could just be the starter. You would not have a spark if the car is not turning over.

Check the starter solenoid. Once you turn the ignition switch to start, the starter solenoid would be energized and connect the main starter motor to the battery to turn the engine.

If this is not happening, then the solenoid could be bad and may need replacement.

    Tnx again,

How do I go about locating the solenoid? How do I test it?

I know Holden cars, not Honda unfortunately...

The solenoid is on the top of the starter. You can bring it down and bench test it.

Use 12 volt battery and put the negative terminal to the ground of the starter and the positive to the small spade terminal clip of the solenoid. This is the round cylindrical part on the side of the starter motor.

    Tnx again,
