Who sang Its Too late

Hi, I'm mark and new to this site. I hope some one can help with this question.
About 1979, 80 or 81 I would listen to this upbeat song called it's too late. But I don't know when the song came out, it was in a collection of a friends albums.
The first line is,

It's about time to say goodbye
Nothing more to try.

And the last lines are.

It's too late for "I miss you"
It's too late for "I care"
It's too late for "I love you"
It's too late
I don't care

I believe it was written by novaspace. But I can't seem to find out who was singing it. It sounded close to someone like the Kinks.
Does anyone know the answer to this?
