I am trying to apply for financial aid to go to school and I need my 2007 tax return to put into my fafsa online. Can anyone shed any light on this subject?

Three options:

1) If you filed on-line, contact the tax website to see if they can provide you a copy of the return.

2) If you filed using a local tax pro, contact him/her and ask for a copy of your return from their files. Expect to pay a small handling fee.

3) If neither 1 or 2 applies, call the IRS at 1-800-829=1040 and ask them to send you a copy of your 2007 tax transcript. It is FREE and the IRS can even fax it to you, often on the same day. The information you need for the FAFSA will be found on that tax transcript.
