Lattice Degenaration of eyes and laser Treatment.
My daughter aged 21 years now, has problem of her vision from the last 5 years. She sees black spring or earthworm type like objects in the air or whenever she sees at white background surfaces and at sky etc.We showed her to a retina specialist last 5 years back.He told us that it is "Lattice Degeneration" which comes from birth itself and any reasons for it's occurrence can not be ascribed. He advised us to get her eyes checked up occsionally by any Retina Specialist to check wheather the problem is getting aggravated or not.So we did like that and the specilist used to tell us not to worry and nothing can be done till this Lattice Degeneration gets fully aggravated then only Laser Treatment can be given to prevent Retina Detachment.
But recently we showed her eyes to another Retina Specialist and he advised us to get her eyes Laser Treated now to reduce the Retina Detachment by 1% in place of 5% in untreated condition. He told us that there is no guarantee from Retina Detachment but the probability will reduce to 1% from 5% in non-treatment conditions.
So I request you all to make me understood the entire details of this eye problem,it's occurrence reasons and any harmful affects after the Laser Treatment etc ,so that I can take a firm decision to proceed for her eyes treatment.
    Thanking You !

I too, have had these "floaters" in my vision like pieces of hair and specs when looking at light colored background. I was told they are a normal bad side effect in the forming of the eye parts. What I noticed was "if I try to focus on them to evaluate and analyze them, I can't make them go away and they really bother me but if I ignore them,(not easy) the problem will fade". It worked for me,with effort! Good luck! Dan
