    Am I crazy?
I have been with this girl for a little over a year. I love her with all my heart and want to marry her I'm 17 and she's 15. I know we're very young but she feels the same about me. What states will allow me to marry her when she's 16 without parents consent? :)

What is your hurry? It really isn't a good idea to marry so young. Neither of you are even grown yet. I know you probably feel you are, but you really aren't. I don't think any States will allow this without parental consent. Slow down a bit.

I know young love seems magical, and you feel an urgency right now to do this, but you don't have to be married to be together. I don't think you totally understand at this point what happens when you sign that marriage certificate.

Cool your jets a bit, and let your relationship develop over time. A year is not enough time to really know someone, and especially at your age, I'm sorry to say.

A year isn't long enough for someone who is much older than the two of you. There is obviously a reason your parents are against this. Listen to them. They have been on this earth longer than you have, and they DO have more experience, whether you think so or not.

Reality check time here. You are 17 and probably not our of school yet? What are you going to do for the rest of your life? Sling burgers at McDonalds? How about when she starts popping out the kids. How are you going to take care of them, support them, but clothes for them? How about medical insurance. What if one of them has a medical condition and requires surgery? How are you going to pay for that while making $6.75 an hour? Can't be done. The most mature thing you can do right now, is wait until you are out of school, get your college education and then consider marriage.

    I would wait...

My wife and I waited until we graduated college and lived together for a couple of years. If it really is forever then you will get married eventually, there is no rush.

Wow slow down everything is soooo exciting in the start. And your first love is always something amazing and new! But when you get Married everything changes I mean do you want to get married and live with your parents? Or get your own place? Cause when you move out and pay your own bills and money gets tight it puts a damper on your love life. You need to figure life out and not jump into something that could ruin everything!

No states will allow this marriage because your are both under the age of 18 and with that being said your both will need a parent consent.

Even if a state did allow this you can't just run to that state and get married because all states have guidelines and most require you to be a resident of that state, and show proof, for at least 6 months.

It looks like you both have to wait until your are both 18. This will give you time to focus and get your life straight because marriage is build on more than love.

So in the meantime think about your future and do something positive with yourself so, as mention above, you'll be able to provide for you and your family.

I would also like to mention, that when you turn 18, she will be underage. If the two of you are sexually active, which I assume you quite likely are, you could also be charged as sex offender. So keep that in mind also! I'm not trying to put a damper on young love, but it's the cold hard truth, and that is the law. So be very careful how you handle things, or it could possibly affect the rest of your life.
