Trying to hook up a new Thermostat, quick wire Q
Hey Guys! Im new here and I need your help, Im cold and would really appreciate your help, if you can! :)
Well about a week ago I was trying to turn my thermostat on because it started to get a bit chilly, but nothing happened, so I went in the basement and seen the pilot was out, so I turned it back on, thinking my problem was solved, I tried turning it on again... nothing happened, so I went to the scene of the crime and realized that my thermostat was pretty loose off the wall! I could even move it side to side! While doing that I suddenly heard the heat turn on! Well, try to turn on... for a mili-sec..
Anyway, It wasn't THAT cold yet, so I went to bed, not knowing that while I was sleeping, my boyfriend "became" an electrician, and took apart my whole thermostat!
Thinking of how he could fixed the problem, he went out and bought a new one... that was his resoluction to my broken heater
So now Im sitting here, trying to hook up the new one, and this is where you guys come in! :D
The model I have here is a Honeywell CT87K and wires I have to hook up from my wall are colored RED, WHITE, and BLUE, but my model asks for RED, WHITE, and YELLOW.
Do I hook up the blue to the yellow? Tape it off? Or what?
PLEASE! IM COLD!
Hope to hear from you soon!!
Thanks a heap ;)
