I live in Pinellas County, Florida, and I am a single parent. I have been on SSD since 1995, and now find myself alone and in serious financial aid of help to survive. I have looked on the internet ad nauseum... lol... and seem to keep finding information from people that want to charge me to get me information on what free grants I would qualify for. I am under 150% of the poverty level with my income, and I need help desperately.

I am in a similar situation with a daughter 8 years old. I have went to county and city but no official will help. I e-mailed to my representatives and congress. They say all the money is gone yet the city is giving 10k to people with mobile home to fix them up. I don't think that is a bad idea but what about those of us who don't even have a home? I have been sharing a room in an emotionally strained household and even now this is ending. I live in California and lost my home in December 2009, I have an organ transplant with complications to type one diabetes. I am sure you are in need of help and my writing is not immediately helping you. I am thinking of going to the city and asking for the same help as those who own mobile homes. It seems government local and state are spending money on infrastructure. We've got to get a voice. I'm thinking maybe the American Disabilities Act has something that can help us.
