Wellsaver tank

Hi speedball1 i have a question for you. I have a well saver 56 gallon pump tank and i'm having some trouble. It's hooked to a one horse submersible pump. When i turn on the power the points click on and off. The tank will fill up then lose pressure and the points click on and off again. Please help

You have a bad check valve or the foot valve is not operating causing you to lose pressure and allowing the control box to send energy back to the pump.

Thanks tom. Originally the check valve was in the head or the very top part of the well. It popped out and a well guy put a copper one in the tubbing. Would you please tell me what's the difference between a check valve and a foot valve.

A check valve's located at ground level while a foot valve's located at the base of the well.

First time I've ever been asked, Why would you want to burythe tank?

Hi tom, no particular reason i live in mississippi and i think they bury the tank to prevent freezing in the winter months.
Back to my original question. I had the well guy,s back out .they dug to the main pipe and replaced some pipe. I know have pressure but when the pressure runs low the points still click on and off iv'e tried to call them but he won't return my call.

Do you have any input?

That sounds fine but what if you want to drain or flush the tank out?
". I KNOW HAVE PRESSURE BUT WHEN THE PRESSURE RUNS LOW THE POINTS STILL CLICK ON AND OFF"

The points are supposed to make contact when the pressure drops below a certain level**or** are you saying the contacts "chatter" instead of making a steady contact? Regards, Tom

Hi tom don't have a control box. But i got my problem fixed . After fixing all leaks. I had replaced the electrical wire leading to the pump, it was the wrong gage. Pulled pump replaced wire well works great thanks for your help it help steer me in the right direction. :d
