Now my family are asking me if we canchange you to working visa instead of j1 visa. But they don't know how neither I know how. I am also confused about my 2 year rule. Cabn I send my ds2019 and passport copies to Washington dc office to ask them whether I am subjected to 212e rule or not. Will it effect my visa or the process of my extension. J-1 visa for Au Pair is not subject to 2 yrs rule, you may apply for other non-immigrant visa when you complete this program and return to your home country. Changing status while you're in US is not recommended unless the case is proceeded by immigration attorney.

About employment visa, if your qualifications meet the requirements of DOL & USCIS, you may apply for employment visa which most are for professionals, specialists, skilled workers, nanny job is not on the list.
