I hate to do it but I have to. She is a Bengal kitten and is booked in on the 1st December to be neauted. My mum has the brother and he has been done today and I have never seen such a sad cat. I am so scared about mine being done, has anyone had there female done and could explain the procedure?

Just depends on where you take her. Some offices will make you leave the cat over night so the can observe her. Then when you are able to take her home make sure you use paper litter. If you use the dusty kind your cats sutures can be infected. Of course a cat is going to act differently they just got surgery. After a week she should be back to normal. My cat has been perfectly fine and I prefer her spayed she acts so much better.

I don't think spaying a cat is cruel at all. I actually think it is a good idea. There are so many people who have cats roaming outside getting pregnant by anything and everything. I think more cat owners need to do it.

Spaying is an *extremely* common procedure. You're only doing her (and any unwanted kittens) a big favor in the long run. As was suggested, no one is at their best after surgery. You'll see that she'll be back to her old self in no time at all. Don't worry about it! It really will be okay.

By the way, the general consensus is that spaying is the opposite of cruel.
