Cycle time adjustment - Heating
Hello,
I have a roughly 15 1/2 year old furnace. Bryant 394B Gas furnace. The furnace cycles 5 times an hour. The thermostat is a Honeywell CT87A 4447 and on the packaging it says it calls for heat when the thermostat temp drops below 1 degree of the desired temo setting and shuts off at the desired temp. Anotherwords I have it at 70 and it comes on at 69 and shuts off at 70. However, How can I change the cycle to run about 3 times an hour? I have logged the cycles for a full day and it turns on for 3 and half minutes then off for 10 minutes , etc... I do know some thermostats have the option to set the cycle from 1 to 12 per hr but this one does not have it. I have tried to adjust the anticipator from the recommended .4 to .5 and then .6. same thing. It did not change the cycle. I did allow the system to adjust to the changed anticipator setting for a full day.
Any help would be fantastic. Thanks!
