I bought a used car yesterday for $9500. When I went home and looked on the internet at their website, the car (same VIN#) was advertised for $7000. Is it possible to go back to the dealer and request the difference? Can I cancel my loan and give the car back? I bought it on Saturday and will be going back on Monday. I am not sure about your location or laws, but here in Missouri there is a lemon law that says there is a couple of days that you have to return it. Not sure exactly how many days, so you should check this out right away.

I don't believe that lemon laws apply to any used vehicle.

You are probably out of luck, unless the dealership offers a time in which you may
Return the vehicle.

If they don't offer such a grace period, and you return it, it will most likely be treated as a voluntary repossession. You could be liable for the difference between the amount you financed, and what it sells for at auction, listed as a repossessed vehicle.

Too bad you didn't do your research before you bought the car.

I've merged your two threads. Please don't post the same question in different forums.

First, the lemon law doesn't apply here. Lemon laws deal with defective equipment not buyer's remorse.

Second. You MIGHT have a right of recission written into the loan contract. Read the contract carefully. But I tend to doubt it since they wouldn't have let you take the car.

So I doubt if you have any real recourse. This is an issue where the dealer can charge anyting the buyer will accept.
