    Should I have bed rest?
    Hi dear dr
I am 26 years old and in 16 weeks of pregnancy. I have had spotting from the first days of my pregnancy which last for 10 weeks and stopped and again begins. My doctor said that I have low lying placenta and fibroid which is growing. I see spotting twice a week. Should I have a bed rest? I also usually have backache.
I am a clerk and should work 8 hours a day
Sorry to have mistakes. I am from Iran
Please answer me as soon as possible

Did your doctor recommend bedrest? If so, best to follow their suggestion. Many women will have a low lying placenta early on, and most will find it is higher up within several weeks once the uterus enlarges. As long as your job is not strenuous, you may not need to be on bedrest. However, your doctor may suggest no intercourse because of the spotting until they recheck its position. Wouldn't hurt to take it easy... nothing too strenuous around the house either, until you have been given the OK. Sometimes it will be referred to as limited bedrest... not that you have to actually stay in bed, but being no more active than is really necessary. Certainly let your doctor know if you have any bleeding that is more than the occasional spotting.
