Do you get a refund if apt is rented before 30 days notice is up?
In California, if you give 30 days notice to a landlord but also tell landlord that you are moving out in 14 days, if he rents the apt. to a new tenant who moves in right after you move out, do you get a refund of the two weeks' rent? If not, the landlord would, in effect, be collecting double rent for 2 weeks.

    Hello l:

The landlord can't double dip. You are entitled to a refund. If the landlord doesn't give it to you, sue him in small claims court.

Yes, IF he charged them rent, did not take a deposit and next months rent, then he will owe you a refund,

Assuming you did not we some penalty ( beyond rent) for moving out early on a lease.

So it would sound like yes you should but then there are a lot of "ifs" hard to tell in a limited paragraph given.
