    If 2^x + 2^x + 2^x + 2^x = 2^k, then what is k in terms of x?

I need help with this concept!

Note that this equation can be re-written as:

    4*2^x = 2^k

    Or:

    2^2 * 2^x = 2^k

Now recall that a^b * a^c = a^(b+c) - use this concept and you should be able to take it from here.
