    Contacting Adult Child
After 15 years and relinquishing my parental rights, I have located my daughter and would like to contact her. I was forced to give away my rights through threats and lies and I feel like she is an adult and can make up her own mind now. Is this a good idea to contact her? Thanks.

Do it though a 3rd party, have either a dis-interested third party, pastor, counselor or someone make the first contact.

That way you can find out if she has any desire to meet

Hi, I would like to answer your question through my own personal perspective. My biological father relinquished his parental rights when I was a toddler... my mother was remmarried by that time, and I was raised by my step-father, who I consider my dad. It is hard for kids who haven't had contact with their birth parents, for whatever circumstances. My best advice for you is to let HER contact YOU. She will do it when she feels she is ready to do so - that way it can be on her terms, and will be most comfortable for her - I'm assuming you would want that. If you contact her, it may cause family tensions for her, and she may feel triangled and/or confused. Be patient... but let her contact you when she feels ready.
