Installing fan and light switch for ceiling fan
I am trying to install a switch that controls both the ceiling fan with 3 speeds and a dimmer switch all in one unit for a hunter ceiling fan. At the wall switch there is a black wire which is always hot, a red and a ground. At the ceiling, where I removed a light fixture, there is a black, red, white and a ground. The fan has a black, black/white stripe, and white and a green (ground).

Are you installing a new hunter fan and new hunter switch? Are you replacing an old fan and an old switch?

I am installing a new fan and new switch. The house is wired for a ceiling fan with light.

Are you sure there are only the two wires (plus ground) at the switch? If so, it sounds like your house is wired for the light to be controlled at the wall, the fan from the pullchain.

Inside the box by the light switch box are two white wires that are wire nutted together also.

With this wire setup is it possible to put in a remote control?

When you said "the house is wired for a ceiling fan with a light" how do you know? That implies it is set up to have a separate switch for a fan and light and that does not appear to be the case.

Yes you can wire a remote kit.

If you have red in ceiling, should have red in box. Tucked inside, out of sight.

    If not,
Agree with ceilingfanrepair, looks like pull for fan, and switch for light.

    Remote easy solution.

It mostly makes sense, red tucked out of site.

Why are you bringing up a post that's a year old and already answered?
