First thought is defrost timer. Item 13 on image below and looks like first image. Easy to replace and not costly.

Hans - The water is more then likely from the water drain that goes to a pan under the fridge, every time that it goes into defrost the water drains down a tube , Ok Find the tube on the back wall ,take a soft clothes hanger and slowly work it ( The wire hanger ) down the DRAIN TUBE< IT is probably stopped up and running out on the bottom of the fridge, Also you may need to set the fridge temp. a little warmer it is probably set to cold and that's why it freezers even way down therte .Good luck and GOD BLESS .IF TJHIS Don't WORK COME BACK AND SEE US > GOOD DAY> F.B.E.
