IS there any effect on baby with mercury during pregnency
Hi, I had kingmackrel and redsnapper fish during my first month of pregnency unknowingly.I had 3 meals per week. Like that I had 3 weeks continuosly.
Later I came to know that I am pregnant, but I came to know that we should not eat kingmackrel and tile fish bcoz of highlevel of mercury in that.
Now I am scaring what will happen to the baby
I heard that it damages baby brain and nervous system
Is it true. If it is how come it damages , I want details
Please suggest me what to do
I am in 2nd month of pregnency now

Where do you live, where these fish were caught ? That was a lot of fish all that time, did you crave it or what ? Was there nothing else to eat ?

I don't think the mercury will do any harm. You would have to eat it all the time without stop for it to damage an unborn fetus.

I am telling you that the little you consumed cannot possibly have any effect on you or your baby. You would have to eat it CONTINUOUSLY the whole nine months of your pregnancy for it to do damage.

If you are worried, go to a doctor and be tested for mercury poisoning and settle your mind. Then you will know what to do.
