Can we use a birth certificate to get into Canada or do we need a pssport to enter
Going to Canada in a few weeks. Can I still use my birth certificate, or do in need a passport to enter. Was told it wasn't going happen till 2007 with the passport.
Crossing to Canada/USA does NOT require a passport at this time.
As of Jan 1, 2007, you will need a passport for all AIR and SEA travel.
As of Jan 1, 2008, you will need a passport for all LAND crossings. (this might be extended until 2009 though, there is currently a bill in the US Congress to extend the deadline, it has yet to be passed though)
Captainforest is right but make sure you carry id. Birth certificate and one id. With photo to establish citizenship
Yes.
v-star brings up good points as well.
While a passport is not yet necessarily, a birth certificate and some kind of government photo id is required (e.g. driver's license, health card)
