Hello, I have a very little hole in my sink drain, but it is located inside the wall, can I repair this hole without destroying the wall?
If its in the wall, how do you know it's a small hole? What kind of pipe is it? You may be able repair the pipe by cutting a whole in the wall behind the sink ( if its behind a cabinet or vanity base).
Thank you for answering my question. I saw that, when I run the water in my sink, there is a little leak coming dawn in my basement wall, straight dawn to the sink, but I cannot see the hole itself, because its very dificult to see without opening of part of the wall. I assume this is a little hole because the leak is minimum. I would like to know if you know any products that allow me to fix this problem without destroy the wall, since its costly for me at this time. I would appreciate any help you could possibly give in regards to this matter, thank you in advance,
Marante
I wish that there was a magic repair kit that repaired hidden leaks. Unfortunately there isn't. I was faced with the same problem some years back. The copper drain line inside the wall developed a bad leak. I was faced with tearing out the kitchen sink and kitchen cabinets to replace the drain. Luckily my sink was on a outside block wall so I simply beat out the block, replaced the drain line and patched and painted the patch to match the rest of the wall. All this was done in a few hours time and my sink was back in business. If your sink's on a outside wall then this is the way to consider.
Good luck and thank you for rating my reply, Tom
You will have to open up the wall and expose the leaking pipe. Do so first than get back to us with photo of the leak. We will tell you how to proceed from this point on...
I don't need na picture to advise you to replace the drain line from stubout to sanitary tee. If one section's bad it's a pretty safe bet the rest will go soon. Regards and good luck, Tom
I believe they are looking for the simplest quick fix here. We may be able to help you temporarily fix the existing leak, but know that you will have to do as speedball suggest sooner or later. Good luck and please let us know what you decide.
