An alternative method of surgery for a prolapsed uterus, bladder, and bowel?
I'm told I will need surgery for this. I think it's partly genetic as both my sisters and mother have had the surgery. Mine will be complicated by the fact I've had a back injury due to an earlier car accident and cannot be placed in the usual position required to do this surgery. Does anyone out there know of an alternative method to doing this surgery? I've also heard and read negative things about the mesh they sometimes use. Has anyone had negative results with this mesh?

I have the same problem "prolapsed uterus" (minus the back problem) and I would like answers that involve an alternative to surgery.
There is not much out there to help with alternatives. Everyone is in such a rush to have surgery, so one I know has any answers on solutions.

I just answered this same question on a post for Elly Welly so I'm copying you with the same response in the event you miss hers.
You do have an alternative to having your uterus removed. My wife suffered with the same problem and 3 different doctors wanted to do a hysterectomy but she refused. I later discovered an article about a new procedure using mesh to secure the prolapse. She went to see this doctor and had the new uterine sling procedure. That has been over 2 years ago and she has not had the first problem. The only exception is the sling to support the urethra to prevent incontinence due to lifting the bladder. This causes a smaller urine stream and takes longer to relieve oneself.
Here's the site with the news release I first read about the procedure News
