Coleman furnace tried replacing the thermocouple and nothing
I am new to the site and have found it very interesting. I have a 21 year old Coleman furnace model #7956-856 and I replaced the thermocouple and I still hear a click sound approx. 5 seconds after the heat is turned up above room temp. At the time of the click, the pilot light goes out and nothing happens. Pilot works great and the system worked great last winter. It just won't kick on now. Thank you for your time and help.

    Hi, Colemanken!

Greetings and WELCOME to the site! I just changed the title a bit and moved your question that you had posted in Introductions to this topic area so that it would get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer it. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves and we try to not ask questions there.

We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little about yourself though, if you would be willing to do that.

    Thanks!

Also, where would I find the Pressure Switch on this unit?

I am not familiar with this model number so can you tell me something about this furnace. Like is it a floor furnace, does it have a 24 volt transformer or is it operated by milivolts? Since you said you replaced the thermocouple it sounds like you have a 24 volt system but some people think that the thermopile is a thermocouple. Another thing you ask about is the pressure switch, I don't understand what you mean by that.

Without knowing more about your system I am going to guess that you have a bad gas valve, I think it is shorting when you turn it to heat.

Is this furnace in a mobile home or manufactured home?

It is a 24 volt system but never heard of a thermopile. Last year, replacing the thermocouple fix it. This year it did not and yes, it sounds like an electrical issue and doing some reading from this site, others where told that it maybe the pressure switch. That's where that came from. Thanks for your response.
