Is being friend with your ex helps getting him back?
We've been together for 3 years we also have 2 kids together, we broke up 2 months ago... I still love him he does too, but our relationship was rocky due to my communication problems, he wants to be my friend and work on us as friends... I do want to start a relationship again, but he keeps saying that he wants to work on a friendship first, is he right that we should work on being friends and see what we get out of there I need help...

Maybe, you need to get a counselor to help if at all possible.
If both of you want to make it work, it could happen.

As you have a family together.
You do have to think about your kids
It is nice for them to have a father..

Even if you two never get back together.
It would be ideal if you could be friends
And share time with the kids.

Who knows what will happen though.. I personal think he is doing a good thing. If the relationship was rocky give it a brake work on a friendship bring back the talking..

I would say try make this work for your kids sake.

If it was just you two I would Meh.. sod him.
But I think its worth the effort.

Unless it starts to hurt you
    Then.. break off

    Best of luck

    Regards

You have kids, and if you never get back together, you still have to work together to raise those kids. That's the main thing, and it would be easier as friends, to work together.
