First Flowr Ceiling Leaks When It Rains
Hi, I have a 2 story home. When it rains, sometimes the first floor ceiling leaks. Have a bathroom above the leak, but it leaks only when it rains

You probably have roof leak around the vent pipe. Water follows down to your ceiling. Get somebody on the roof, apply Henry 208 around the flashing and around the pipe.

    I think Milo nailed it.
To test for a roof vent leak you may:
    1) go up on the roof with a hose and play it around the vent or vents while someone checks in the attic for moisture. **or**
    2) wait till it rains and go up in the attic and check it out yourself. Good luck, Tom

Thanks for your quick reply. I won't be able to do it, as the roof is very high, will have engage a professional. So, do I engage a plumber or roofer or good handy man?

Also, if the leak is due to vent pipe, how come it does not leak on the second floor ceiling?

I would simply wait till the next rrain to see what vent's leaking then I would call in a roofer to repair the vent terminal roof flashing. Regads, tom

Vent pipe clears plates in attic / ceiling location. Then hits plate on the 2nd floor / 1floor ceiling. That's where the drip shows. In other words: water travels.
