    Network adapter
I am back again.. by the way I never resolved the other issue but was wondering if I could trouble you again. I am trying to install Comcast onto my laptop but it says I do not have a network adapter. Now the question is this. . talked to comcast no help talked to some other people no help. What I was wondering was.. I already have a network adapter on my desktop. I just bought a 1gb flash drive.. what I want to do is download the network adaptor load it the flash drive and load it to the laptop,

Is this possible? If it is... where do I go for a network adapter to download and how do I do this.. thanxs in advance(curly ben.. you have my back all the time)

What make and model of Laptop do you have.
Most, if not all, modern laptops already have a network adapter.
It may just be a case of going to the manufactures web site and downloading it form there.

Your network adapter is hardware, not software. It is where you phyically plug a network cable to the computer. Do you have a network jack on your laptop (not to be confused with a phone jack), yet the network adapter is not detected by Windows?

Northwind.. . I so hope you're still here.

I just reinstalled W7 and get a Missing Network Adapter message for an HP Desk Top unit.. . Found your response above while searching for possible answers.

I have an active ethernet port.. . It's worked with no hassel for 4 years thus far, it was only on the reinstall that we started having issues and needing new drivers, etc. anyone with a fix? I've been down for nearly a month and having to borrow a Lap Top (I'm not used to these things) just to search and track down a solution.

What makes it worse is that I'm pretty much home bound/disabled and limited on being able to pay for help.
