Are there any grants available for ex felons in Florida who want to start a new business? My son will be released in June 09 and has a great ides and the necessary experience to start his own company rather than suffer the consequences most face when they return to society.

Nope. Not only that, they're going to make him pay for his own parole.

I don't mean to dash his hopes, and I absolutely agree about self employment being the ONLY way for an exconvict to escape (so to speak) his past. I'm only telling you that the government ain't going to help.

Speaking from experience, if he's got great ideas AND the experience to carry them out, he can find some private money.
