Why does the rinse cycle on the washer create bubbles in the toilet?
I have a 1/2 bath downstairs of my home,, on the other side of the wall, behind the toilet is my laundry room. Many times when my washer is on the rinse cycle,, we can hear "bubble" sounds and soap suds appear in the toilet? Is this harmfull? A major problem?

    Help

This points to a partial clog downstream from the toilet. What's happening is that your washer pump discharges with great force and volume. When the disharge hits a obstruction it bounces back sending sewer gas and soap ahead of it. While this isn't harmful or a major problem it should be looked after. The line must be snaked from:
    1) the bathroom roof vent,
    2) Pull the toilet and snake from there **or**
    3) from that washer stand pipe or roof vent
    Good luck, Tom
