I have noticed I have a very slight blue/green almost broken line running from the top to the bottom of my laptop screen and which starts about a third of the way across the screen. Can you tell me what this might be?

Unfortunately it sounds like the LCD panel is on it's way out.
That being the case it's cheaper to replace the whole laptop than simply the screen, unless you can source a cheap spare part as new they are expensive.

Thanks a lot. I had a feeling it might be the case as laptop is a good 4 years old and well used.

I have a dell laptop inspiron 2600 sometimes the monitor flickers whiteish and some times it just shows white any ideas

MarcusOnTheMove If you pull the screen and look at the model you might be able to find a replacement for around 150 to 200

moosejaw I would first try checking the cables connections on the lcd its possible the cable might have come loose or even torn.
