    Pressure switch
My pressure switch stopped working the other day so I got in the well pit and tapped on it as I had in the past to re-start it. This time the spring in one of the contacts fell out, so I went and got a new switch and installed it. After 6 day's we had no water again so I went out and tapped on the switch again, it started working right away, but 5 minutes later it did the same thing, does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

Check the contact points. If they're burnt or pitted then your pump's drawing too many Amps and the windings need to be checked. Good luck, Tom

How is the switch mounted? Check the pipe, tubing or aperture, whatever you have that provides water pressure to the switch, and insure that it is open and not clogged by rust or debris.

If points of new switch are burned, check electrical service for good voltage .
