Well I have been with this guy for like 2 years. We got "married". Had the wedding, and somehow the marriage license got "lost" between the post office and the stats office. I have fallen totally out of love with this guy, we have no children togeather, and I have found love else where. Its to a man who is like 41 and I'm like 20. I love him but the crazy thing is its his"step"dad, but he remarried after his wife died, so does that still make it my current b/fs step dad? I really need help because I really don't know what to do? I'm like on the fence about all of it, and I really need some advice. PLEASE HELP!!

Sounds like you need to first off get a divorce from your husband and then get on your own for a while until you can get your head on straight. Besides your step father is now married, so how is that going to work out? NOT!

No no no... the marriage certificate got lost, so technically we were never married to start with. Next is it still considered his step dad if he got married then divorced to another woman after my current b/f mom died?

The marriage certificate was issued by the city? Losing it doesn't unmarry you, it just means you lost it. It's like a bank statement... if you lose your bank statement, you still have the money.

You will have to get a divorce regardless if you're goal is to marry someone else. You can't "undo" a marriage by misplacing the certificate if it was officially created by the city.

Makes no difference hunny. You are still legally married to your husband. Second it does not make two hoots who this other man is, you still have the hots for him for some strange reason that you are not telling us. Third, he is now married, right? So if you have sex with him, you are, one an adultress, two stepping into and destroying another marriage besides your own. Sorry, Like I said before, you MUST get a divorce first, Move out and live on your own for an extended period and then, if and that is a big if he chooses to get a divorce also you are then free to date him. Until that time, your marriage vows are sacred.

No I checked with the county and the state and they have no record of us being married, so I think I will be OK, no the other guy was married he divorced like 1and a half years ago, and we are in love I was just wondering if I was doing the right thing. So, to clarify, you never got a marriage license, you just got the form and never had it signed by the local magistrate? You've never, EVER seen the final SIGNED marriage license? That's THREE signatures... yours, his and the local official? Did you two EVER stand in a city office signing docs or not?
