    Child support
    I live in Kansas . I have just been approved for disability and I owe for back child support . Can child support take my whole back pay check ?

    I am pretty sure that they will not take all of it, but they will take a percentage out of each check. Call your disabilty office and ask them.

    In most states Child support can be garnished from disability checks, as far as I know.

    You can have CS taken from disability, yes. But there is a withholding cap in most places of 50%.

    Ok when you say whole back paycheck do you mean a settlement check or do you mean catch up payments from SSd ( social security disability ) because those are 2 different things. If it's a settlement check they may be entitled to take all of it for arrears. If its catch up payments for ssd then they may only be entitled to a portion of the funds.

    Really need to know what your calling " whole back paycheck "

    Also if your on disability through SSD then you should have included your children ( under 18 or in collage ) on your application and they should receive benefits also.
