I was fired by a company in November of 2008. In February I Turned the TV on and saw my face being used in an advertisement for that company. Just recently I went into their website and they have my face in about 5 videos and they are also mentioning me by name to promote their business. My question is do I have a possible lawsuit here. I have since opened up my own business in the same field. I have never been asked or signed a release for them to do this. Any comments would be appreciated. Also under what caregory would I put this. Thanks

Hard to say if you gave them permission to take you photo when it happened?

If you were a paid employee of that company did you give them any written permission to use your face or name? If not, consult with an attorney about this for a possible lawsuit.

I can very well infer from your words that you didn't authorize, nor you were informed by your company, to use your photograph. As we cannot be hasty into filing suits in court, you may ask them first to refrain from using your photograph. In the meantime, if I may ask, how would you classify your work, I mean what is its nature?

If your former employer refused to take out your pics, then it's time to consult with a lawyer.
