    Spout or cartridge? The spout you refer to , is it a tub/shower spout or what?

    Do you have copper, galv. Or PVC plumbing in your house ? Can you post a photo of the spout ?

    Moen makes a "Slip Fit Shower Spout" (see image). Look under the spout next to the wall line and if you see a square hole then you have a compression type spout. If no square hole then you have a screw in type. To remove a compression type spout you take a allen head wrench in the correct size and unscrew to allen head screw and pull the spout out.
