    Wood stove in basement
I'm putting a wood stove in my basement. And because of space constraints, I have to run it out the wall and up the outside wall of the house. Right where I want to put it is a basement window. Because of the difficulty in cutting concrete, I would like to go through the window. I can't find anywhere in my local code if this is okay, and I've tried to phone them, but sit on hold for what seems like hours. Anyway, is it "normally" code to go through the window, as long as the proper measures are taken? I realize cities all differ with their code, but on average have you found it okay? Because if in your experience it isn't, then I'll look at another option. Thanks guys!

Best to contact your local code authority. There are various reasons for basement windows in the code but each jurisdiction can be different.
