Entering US (shoplifted but was not charged)
I am 17 and I've been caught shoplifting but was not charged. The police has a note on my file that I've shoplifted. I was wondering if this will affect me when I try to cross the US border? Will I have to step out and answer questions, denied entry, etc?

Also, because I was not charged, is this called absolute discharge? Does this mean that the note/record will be removed from my file one year after I've committed the crime?

In later years when I do criminal checks, will this note still show up? And, when I cross the US border, the note that I shoplifted is still going to show up after one year, correct?

Sorry for asking so many questions, but thanks!
