    Charging Loop
    Charging loop, will this work ?

    One or more lithium batteries from power tools powering a bicycle hub motor attached to modified car alternator charging a bank of deep cycle batteries. Over flow from storage bates in to a dump valve going back to the beginning to charge the lithium batts and so on.

    That is the crude simplicity of it. I'm looking for a Y / N with a small expiation and we can go from there. I would like to thank you in advance.

    No.. it won't work.
    The short answer...
    Each step in your process: batteries to motor and motor to alternator and alternator to storage batteries and storage batteries back to input batteries is less than 100% efficient.
    Assuming that each step were 90% efficient (they aren't that good) you would get back into your original batteries 90%x90%x90%x90%=65% of what you got out of them.
    Efficiency... at 100% efficiency 1HP=746Watts. That said, in the first step of the process, at 90% efficiency if you took out 746Watts from the batteries you would only get 0.9 HP out of the motor... now if you fed 0.9HP to the 90% efficient alternator, you would only get 604 Watts out... by the time it got through your loop (assuming everything was 90% efficient) your 746 watts out of the batteries would only get 485 watts back. In the real world, efficiencies are more like 60 to 80% per device.

    No it won't. If it would you would be the first to discover a working perpetuum mobile.
    The various losses in the loop are always higher than the "overpower" produced by the system.

    I would like to thank the both of you for responding to my question. I personally will agree with the both of you on your conclusions. This was to answer a friends tunnel vision
    In which I was not qualified but had all ready agreed with you. Diminishing return is what I would call it. I will be glad to pass on you views.
