Live in a TH N. VA, looking at replacing 7 windows 39x59; Got a quote from a local contractor for "American Jewl 3000 sries, Vinyl, white, 7/8th, double hung, argon. Anyone has an experience/review with this brand? HD/Lowes/Sears turned out tobe very xpensive.

Hard to make comparisons when you just name stores. What brand did HD and Lowe's quote on? American Jewel has been around since before WWII but is still relatively small compared to Pella and others. How much were all 3 quotes and are they all similar in material and e-glass?

I don't see a 3000 series double hung on their website. I see a 1100 1400 1500 1700 series. Ask for a clarification. Good luck.
